menu_book Biography

Ungoliant was a primordial being that took the shape of a monstrous spider. Her origins are shrouded in the darkness of the Void itself, having descended into the world from the outer reaches of Eä. Driven by an insatiable hunger, she lived in the southern shadows of Aman, weaving webs of Unlight that could blind even the Valar.

Her presence was so terrifying and her power so vast that even Melkor, the strongest of the Ainur, felt a chill of dread in her company. She consumed everything she touched, transforming the purest light into a thick, suffocating darkness that served both as her shield and her weapon.

La Devoradora de Luz

"The Two Trees of Valinor withered under her touch, their sap providing her with the strength to overcome even the Dark Lord."

Legacy & Descent

Mother of Shelob and the terror of Nan Dungortheb, her lineage plagued Middle-earth for ages to come.
